Atlas Copco to acquire Wangen Pumpen

Atlas Copco has agreed to acquire the German industrial pump manufacturer Pumpenfabrik Wangen GmbH from personal fairness agency Silverfleet Capital.

Headquartered in Wangen in the Allgäu region of Germany, Pumpenfabrik Wangen specialises in progressive cavity pumps used mainly in the biogas and wastewater sectors, and twin-screw pumps for food and beverage and cosmetics functions.
Pumpenfabrik Wangen has manufacturing amenities in Germany, a US subsidiary and a global gross sales and service footprint. The company employs 265 folks and had 2020 revenues of approximately €46.4 million.
“Industrial pumps is a section that we’ve identified as a strategic fit for Atlas Copco and Wangen Pumpen has leading differentiated expertise with a strong aftermarket business,” stated Andrew Walker, president of Atlas Copco’s Power Technique business space. “Wangen Pumpen is a robust model and is understood for high quality in demanding industrial purposes. This acquisition will create a stable foundation for further growth in new industrial pump segments.”
The acquired enterprise will turn into part of the Power and Flow division within Atlas Copco’s Power Technique Business Area.
