Nakhon Si Thammarat prison sealed off as infections climb

A jail in Nakhon Si Thammarat that earlier in the week introduced it had a Covid outbreak, has been sealed off after over one hundred infections were found among inmates, says Governor Kraisorn Wisitwong. The Correctional Institute for Young Offenders, which, despite its title houses many prisoners over the age of 60, has introduced that 130 more infections have been found. Currently, over half of the prison’s inhabitants, 1,325 out of two,315 individuals, has tested positive for Covid.
Kraisorn has ordered a subject hospital to be constructed inside the jail to treat patients who have gentle symptoms. The governor went on to say that the jail is not going to be taking in any new prisoners at this time.
